Mr. Finke has litigated a wide variety of commercial, bankruptcy, banking, real estate, and employment cases in federal and state courts. The work included representing bankruptcy trustees in fraudulent transfer and other recovery actions. In addition, Mr. Finke was a Special Assistant Illinois Attorney General for three different State agencies including the Illinois Department of Transportation in condemnation actions. As a Special Assistant Illinois Attorney General, he recovered $4.75 million dollars in an inverse condemnation action against the federal government. (State of Illinois v. United States)
Represented dozens of State of Illinois agencies and State government officials ranging from the Governor and other constitutional officers and agency heads to the Chief Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County in federal and state litigation in both injunctive and damages actions. The subject areas included road and building construction, trucking disputes, employment, civil rights, and federal and state constitutional cases.
Mr. Finke is a Member of Chicago Bar Association Judicial Evaluation Committee investigative and hearing sections from 1997 to present. Member of JEC Executive Committee from 2006 to present.
Admitted to the Bar in Illinois and in the District of Columbia. Also admitted to the United States Supreme Court; United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh, District of Columbia, and Federal Circuits; United States District Court for the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois; and United States Court of Federal Claims.
